Tyler’s takeover sees departure of long-time sales manager

-

The acquisition of Tyler’s estate agents by Connells Group sees Histon High Street branch sales manager Marcus Stamp set to depart at the end of this month after nearly 30 years here in the community.

Expanding their network

Sharing news of the acquisition on their website, Chief Operating Officer at Connells, Chris Rosindale, writes: “I’d like to extend a huge welcome to our new colleagues from Tylers, and we’re incredibly excited for this fantastic business to join our group. We’ve achieved outstanding growth so far this year, with 11 acquisitions now under our belt which have enabled us to increase our managed portfolio by almost 4,000, expand our network with 12 new branches and welcome a host of new colleagues and customers to our group”.

All four Tyler’s branches – Cambridge, Histon, Newmarket and Willingham – will now come under control of the Connell’s Group which also includes neighbouring Histon High Street estate agent, Tucker Gardner, among the 80+ local estate agency brands listed on its website.

A fond farewell

Sales Manager Marcus joined Tyler’s in 1998; having met then owner Michael Tyler at the Impington Posthouse bar (now the Holiday Inn) where he was working temporarily after University. “An interview later and I started at Histon – off to see a new homes site in Longstanton the same afternoon!”, Marcus shared.

For Marcus the chance to work locally and learn a trade in the community he had grown up in was “an offer too good to turn down” and one which allowed him to use the skills in surveying, architecture and housing his degree had covered.

As Marcus bids farewell to Histon and Impington he told HI HUB: “My clients have always been important to me, and I have enjoyed lots of repeat business and made many good friends throughout the village, which has extended to lots of time together outside of work.

“My time has come to take a new direction with work. Selling houses has changed and I have enjoyed seeing the business grow and I’m proud of where I leave it. I’ll very much miss all my brilliant current and past clients in and around Histon”.
