Impington local, the Rose & Crown, is celebrating its inclusion in the 2027 edition of CAMRA publication, The Good Beer Guide.
Recognised as the ‘definitive guidebook’ to pubs that serve real ale across the UK, the Good Beer Guide is completely independent and produced based entirely on evaluation by members of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA).
The pub opened under the Milton Brewery flag on 5 November 2024 and has recently completed major extension works offering additional indoor and outdoor space for customers. The pub holds regular beer festivals, has recently launched a chess club and now serves food with its own in-house pizza oven.
Talking to HI HUB, Pubs Manager for Cambridge & District CAMRA, Ali Cook, said: “The 2025 Good Beer Guide was already out when the pub opened in 2024 and the nomination stage for selecting entries for the 2026 Guide had opened a few weeks beforehand. As a result the 2027 Guide was the first edition that it could get into.
“Steve and Julie are both well known to local CAMRA members and we were very happy to see them take on the Rose & Crown. They are friendly and welcoming and know how to look after real ales and real ciders.
“The Rose & Crown has reinforced Histon & Impington’s place as a desirable destination for local beer and cider drinkers”.
Topping off a great year
And, for manager Steve Snudden, this recognition tops off a fabulous year at the Rose & Crown. “Well it’s great news for the pub and, I think, the village to be included in the Good Beer Guide and it’s very nice to see all our hard work pay off! Of course this wouldn’t be possible without the support of our customers and, of course, our local CAMRA members who voted for us!
“All in all it’s great to be in the guide and I will be happily keeping the beer in top form for our customers!”
