Residents invited to share views on day-to-day life in survey

-

Cambridgeshire County Council has launched its annual survey which aims to capture the opinions of residents and communities on everyday life in the county.

The annual Quality of Life survey aims to build a picture of how H&I residents feel about living in Cambridgeshire, covering topics ranging from transport and health to community life, wellbeing and the cost of living.

Participants are being urged to complete the survey, which remains open until 5 August. Its findings are due to be published in the autumn and used to help inform the Council’s future priorities and planning.

Around 5,500 people are expected to take part through online and telephone interviews over the coming months, with organisers seeking a broad cross-section of voices from communities across all five district areas.

Previous results

Previous surveys have painted a mixed picture of life in the county. Many residents said they felt happy, safe and had a strong sense of belonging in their communities, with Cambridgeshire widely regarded as a good place to raise children.

But responses have also highlighted challenges affecting everyday life, including concerns over road and pavement maintenance, rising living costs, mental health and loneliness.

County leaders say the latest survey offers residents the chance to influence future decisions and ensure local priorities reflect the realities of day-to-day life.

Councillor Lucy Nethsingha, Leader of Cambridgeshire County Council, said residents’ experiences were central to shaping future policies and services.

She said: “This is an important opportunity for residents to have their say on what quality of life means to them and to help shape the decisions we make as a county.”

The survey is running in partnership with Cambridge Ahead and the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority.

The Quality of Life survey remains open until 5 August and all residents can also take part through the Council’s website.
