New management will be taking on The Railway Vue from the start of June, it has been announced. The pub informed its customers of the news yesterday (Wednesday) on Facebook.
Leaseholder Daniel Johnson explained the decision was “due to the current climate” and the distance between The Railway Vue and the main base of pub management company Desire Inns, in Worksop.
The post from Dan said: “[This makes] it difficult for us to effectively manage the day-to-day running of the business and give the pub the support it deserves…” The pub will continue to trade until 31 May, and will close in order for the transition to take place. A new management company will be taking over from 2 June.
It ended: “At this stage, I do not know what the new company’s plans are regarding reopening or future operations. I would personally like to thank everyone for their custom, loyalty, and support during our time at The Railway Vue. It has truly meant a lot to us all.”
Food hygiene
Following an inspection in March, the Food Standards Agency gave The Railway Vue a zero food hygiene rating – stating “urgent improvement necessary” in the overall guidance.
Punch Pubs owns The Railway Vue and £300,000 was invested into refurbishing the interior and exterior last year. It was closed for around six weeks for the works to take place.
New signage, outdoor furnishings and interior changes were carried out as part of the project.
Punch Pubs & Co Operations Manager, David Hill, said: “We can confirm that The Railway Vue pub will be under new management this June. We would like to thank Daniel for his hard work and dedication during his time at the pub, and we wish him every success in his new venture.
“We know how much this pub means to the local community, so it remains our priority to keep the doors open. We will therefore continue trading as the transition takes place.
“We would like to reassure our guests that the pub will continue to operate as normal, with the addition of a new food offering coming in the near future. We look forward to updating the community in the coming weeks.”
