Minute’s silence to be held for former councillor

-

The next Parish Council meeting will open with a tribute to former councillor Chris Jones. His funeral took place this week.

Full council will meet on Monday (16 February) at 7:30pm in the Community Room at the Rec. Refreshments will be available from 7pm.

Members will consider whether the Council should respond to two Government consultations launched last week related to the Greater Cambridge area.

The first is around proposals to create a Cambridge Development Corporation to help speed up development in the area. The other public consultation focuses on local government reorganisation in Cambridgeshire.

The Council will also be updated on the activities of its various committees, and asked to approve four Section 106 payments.

These are:-

  • £9,240 to St Andrews Stable Rooms for work to improve access to outdoor spaces;
  • £4,600 to buy and install automatic doors at the Methodist Church; and
  • £1,750 to HI Friends for an industrial dishwasher at Kay Hitch Way;
  • £1,450 to buy an A3 document scanner and accessories for residents to use.

The Council will also be asked to approve other admin-related matters, including the renewal of an HR retainer with Astons at £2,300 for the year.

The Full Council meeting will take place on Monday 16 February, 2026 in the Community Room at the Rec, starting at 7.30pm. For full details, see the agenda pack here.

H&I residents are invited to attend to listen to the debates, and anyone who wishes to address the meeting is advised to contact the Parish Council office in advance. Email clerk@hisimp-pc.gov.uk for details.
