In celebration of Independent News Week 2026, HI HUB invites the community to join us for our first ever fundraising quiz night.

POSTPONED Local News Quiz Poster1200

Taking place at the St Andrew’s Centre on Wednesday 17 June, this Histon & Impington focused news quiz will test your knowledge of the local news stories, people and organisations that are showcased on HI HUB each week.

No News is Bad News

Launched in 2024, Indie News Week is an initiative organised by the Public Interest News Foundation (PINF) and offers independent news outlets such as HI HUB an opportunity to come together to raise awareness nationally of the important role local news plays in keeping communities informed and engaged; strengthening democracy, connecting communities and holding power to account.

Under the banner “No News is Bad News”, this third annual public campaign, taking place across the UK from Monday 15 to Sunday 21 June, offers HI HUB a chance to raise the profile of independent news and generate much needed funds for our continued operation.

Can you help us to continue?

This year’s campaign will again see HI HUB hoping to boost its increasingly limited reserves. HI HUB receives no public funding and relies solely on donations from sponsors, supporters and the generosity of the Histon & Impington community.

Are you a local organisation or business who has been boosted by one of our features? Has our news team highlighted an issue you would have struggled to resolve without the help of our professional journalists? Or maybe you’ve attended an event, or secured a job, from those listed free of charge locally on our website?

If we have helped you in any way, please do come along to the quiz and meet the team, consider subscribing or making a one-off donation, or maybe sign up as a sponsor? Every little bit of support really does make a difference.

Editor update 2 June : This event has been postponed until the autumn. New date to be announced in due course.
