Former groundsman’s accommodation, Neighbourhood Plan and budget setting on finance agenda

-

Up to £3,000 could be spent on professional advice about the future rental of the former groundsman’s accommodation owned by Histon & Impington Parish Council.

The Finance, Governance and Legal Committee has been asked to approve the funds for a solicitor to review a landlord application form for the property, and discuss potential restrictions on rental agreements.

The agenda explains documentation may also be required “to ensure potential occupants are aware of the working environment”.

At the meeting on Monday (28 September), Councillors will also decide whether to create an earmarked reserve and transfer £5,000 into it to cover future Neighbourhood Plan expenses.

The plan is a community-led document that sets out the planning policies that will guide future development, growth and protection of the local area. These are plans usually led by town or parish councils.

Other items on the Committee agenda include:-

  • To agree the budget planning process for the next 2027/28 financial year;
  • To agree the release of the second instalment of an already approved £25,650 grant to HI Friends;
  • Reviewing the Council’s finances and reserves; and
  • Reviewing how the Council manages funds.

The meeting takes place on Monday (28 September) in the Community Room at the Rec, starting at 7.30pm. All Histon & Impington residents are invited to attend to listen to the debates, and any resident wishing to address the meeting should contact the office to request a slot.
