Fond farewells as pupils serenade retiring Park Primary Head

-

Jonathan Newman, Head of H&I Park Primary school (HIPPS) has retired, having been at the helm since the school opened in 2021.

Mr Newman, who was also previously Head of H&I Brook Primary (HIBPS) as well as the now closed village infant school (HIIS), left at the end of the summer term.

Lisa Moule takes over as Head of Park Primary and Richard Bakker will become Executive Head over both the Brook and Park schools.

Emotional send off

Mr newman

Pupils said goodbye to the outgoing Head by performing a specially-written song in a leavers’ assembly, which was followed by one final whole school run led by Mr Newman and a quick dance on the playground.

Teaching assistants Miss Martin and Mrs Smith who have both worked at HIIS/HIPPS for over 20 years also left at the end of term and were celebrated for their service.

Responding to a social media post about Mr Newman’s retirement, one parent of a pupil at Park Primary said: “What a send-off, and so deserved. Jonathan you will be sorely missed but what a legacy you have left!

Thank you for all you’ve done for our children.”
