As September draws to a close and the Histon Beer Festival organising committee recover, Chair, Don Kelly, reflects on this year’s event.
This time last year, the Histon Beer Festival Committee said that the 2025 fundraising effort would never be beaten. It turns out that we were wrong (just)! The final figure for the UK’s only 7 day Festival* was £30,000, raised for local good causes (£29,600 in 2025).
Anecdotal feedback is that all who came enjoyed themselves – and there were a lot of you as anyone who tried to negotiate the marquee and outside space on Friday and Saturday night will testify!
We welcomed the positive reaction to the change in layout, the selection of beers and ciders and the music, particularly the new bands we selected.
The changes that we make each year are mostly as a result of listening to the festival goers so we would welcome any comments or suggestions. Please get in touch to tell us about any aspect of the Festival – good or bad – by emailing histonbeerfest@gmail.com.
Thank you and get in touch!
This is the bit where we thank those without whom we couldn’t keep doing this – the sponsors, the volunteers, Young’s and the Red Lion and, of course, those of you who come and spend your money!
And now the work of dishing out all that cash begins. If you are involved with a local good cause or charity that could use some of it, please go to our website and download the application form. First come, first served!
And so, on to 2027. Planning has already started and the marquee has been ordered – we never rest.
See you on Monday 6 September 2027!

Grateful thanks to the Beer Festival team – you are awesome! And to all the supporters. We are a lucky pair of villages to have such commitment which directly enables so many activities and events to be offered, kindly funded by the Beer Festival, as well as by the Feast and our Parish Council. Thank you.
